In fact, it is a tool clamping head installed on a drilling or tapping machine tool, and it can process drilling or tapping parts on more than two axes at the same time, so it is called a multi-axis machine.

An ordinary multi-axis machine coupled with an ordinary drilling machine can process several or even dozens or twenty holes or threads at one time. If equipped with a pneumatic (hydraulic) device, it can automatically perform fast forward, work forward (work retreat), fast rewind, and stop. The multi-axis machine is called group drilling in the colloquial language. The general model can drill 2-16 holes at the same time, which greatly improves the efficiency.

The number of axes of the fixed machine is not limited, and the drilling axis form and size can be designed and processed according to the needs of the customer. The body structure of the multi-axis machine (multi-axis machine tool/multi-axis head/multi-axis drill/group drill) series is composed of a gear box and a universal joint head. It is easy to adjust the processing hole spacing gear limit, saving adjustment time, and is rare.

The limit of dead angle is suitable for processing work pieces with holes distributed close to the circumference. Its gears, bearings, output shafts, and universal joints all adopt strong series, which is suitable for processing steel parts and other force applications. In order to ensure the life of the universal joint head, the movement range must not exceed 15 degrees, which is equal to within 30mm vertically, front, back, left, and right.

Multi-axis machines are widely used in drilling and tapping of porous parts in the machinery industry. Such as porous parts of automobiles and motorcycles: engine cases, aluminum casting casings, brake drums, brake discs, steering gears, wheel hubs, differential cases, axle heads, half shafts, axles, etc., pumps, valves, Hydraulic components, solar accessories and more.
